Mariam has been teaching yoga since 2017, leading classes to students of mixed abilities and experiences, catering to different levels and always giving options and modifications. Like her own practice, she has a bias towards dynamic flows to challenge both body and mind, while improving body awareness and confidence. As a practitioner of Ashtanga and Rocket yoga, she is committed to her own practice and uses her own experience as a student to guide the way she teaches to be approachable and fun, embracing the many wobbles and falls as part of the journey.
She has assisted teachers such as Tom Norrington-Davies in the Mysore room, and Marcus Veda, Alan Ellman and Emily Mergaert in their rocket-based classes to experience a wide range of practitioners and their bodies to aid their practice.
Through practicing and teaching yoga she started getting interested in physiotherapy. She has gained experience in NHS and private physiotherapy clinics, treating shoulder injuries to back pain to recurrent ankle sprains. She enjoys working with active people from different backgrounds, combining yoga and classical physiotherapy together. She has hypermobility herself, and uses her knowledge to support this condition.
